Don't forget to sand it to make it smoother before paint. ;)

I know....I used the unsightly tape. But hard enough to keep all those fishing line together. lol. Not to mention the skelly joints popping from time to time. Hopefully I can do something about it in the paint stage.

Phases to go....
-Sanding
-Priming
-Paint
-Clear coat

ohh and packaging....this one goes to someone who really likes venom.

mmm. reminds me of that resident evil boss..
suggestion:
- just sand a little then run a cutter blade along the muscles to simulate muscle fibers.. :)
- after the clear coat, wash with the base color's darker shade, :)then thin clear coat again

but if your after for the venom finish just disregard the suggestion :)

What ya mean by this? So if the venom's side is black and light blue....after the clear coat...i'll apply black again?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm always open to 'em ^_^

I try to simulate muscle fibers with fishing line as part of Venom envelops the decaying part of the host.

READ THIS PLEASE

um isn't fishing line kind of counterintuitive for that, you'd need a lot of line to make them noticeable when you paint them?

do yourself a favor and go with what benjamin said. that's what i did with my symbiote and it works well for gore customs in general. plus it captures the effect more due to the noticable gaps between the "muscle fiber" which allows the paint to seep in deeper and make shadows darker, whereas the fishing line will just clump the paint all together.

that is if you're using brush-on acrylics.

and is the right arm still articulate by the shoulder?

ohh wow. Yewp that site explained what the wash is about. Thanks Zi.

reminds me of the "oxide" used in ceramics. I will give that a try.

Regarding the fishing lines as muscle fibers...I probably didn't explain it well enough. The decayed side is just bones more or less and doesn't have much muscles. The symbiote latches on it and created a network of fibers that act as muscles.

And painting it will be tricky...which i need to experiment on.
